Salzburg Showcase at the Celtic Museum

Picture for Showcases News Salzburg

On 4 September 2013 the Salzburg Showcase team was at the Celtic Museum in Hallein.

The Celtic Museum (Keltenmuseum) is one of the largest museums on Celtic history in Europe. It holds a broad collection of archaeological finds and artifacts excavated at the Dürrnberg mountain, where the Celts used to live and mine salt. The Celtic Museum also houses the Town Archive of Hallein with its vast collection of historical images and documents. Salzburg Research has already participated very successfully with the Celtic Museum in previous projects.

For the CreativeCH project, we discussed a possible co-operation within the Salzburg Showcase. In particular, the museum was open to provide access to the vast resources of the town archive for the students' project on cultural heritage, which is going to be implemented in the coming months.

The Celtic Museum also became a local showcase partner.
