Folk costumes as an element of cultural diversity (copy 1)

Cultural Heritage of Banat region refers not only at popular patois but also at folk costumes inherited from generation to generation. The folk costumes in our area reflects the cultural diversity and also the cultural specificity of each minority. Geographically, we observed major differences between plain area and the mountain area. Folk costumes that are specific to plain area of Banat are embellished with geometrical elements while those that are specific to mountain area are embellished with floral elements.

A part of this diversity is revealed in an interesting exposition opened in April, 30, at Theresia Bastion in Timisoara, where more loving of popular folk costumes exposes a part of their collections not only to see the specificity of the past but also to see the passion for culture in the present.
